Applications are now open for the Columbia University Arbitration Certificate

Atameken Arbitration Center is pleased to share that applications are now open for the Columbia University Arbitration Certificate: Mastering Arbitration from Appointment to Award, an intensive four-day arbitrator skills programme delivered by the IAC, Turkic Arbitration Association, the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), and CICIA at Columbia Law School.

The programme is designed for current arbitrators and experienced legal practitioners preparing for their first arbitral appointments, with a strong focus on the judgement and decision-making required of an arbitral tribunal.

Participants will work as tribunal teams throughout one evolving international arbitration case. They will conduct procedural conferences, decide contested applications, manage documentary, witness, and expert evidence, test competing submissions, take part in simulated hearings, deliberate on the dispute, and ultimately draft a reasoned final arbitral award. Upon completing the full programme, participants will receive a Columbia University Certificate.

Programme details:

  • Dates: 29 October 2026 – 1 November 2026

  • Time: 09:00 – 16:30 (Astana time)

  • Format: In-person (pre-course virtual component required before attendance)

  • Location: IAC Premises, 55/16 Mangilik El Avenue, Block C3.1, Astana, Kazakhstan
