On 1-2 July 2025, Astana will host the annual "IAC Eurasian Arbitration Week 2025" (EAW25), organised by the AIFC International Arbitration Centre in partnership with the law firm Herbert Smith Freehills LLP.
In 2024, the event brought together over 200 participants from the USA, the UK, Europe, and Asia.
EAW25 is the third annual Eurasian Arbitration Week — a key platform for leading arbitration and dispute resolution experts from Eurasia and around the world. Arbitrators, private practice lawyers, in-house counsel, policymakers, and academics will gather to discuss current arbitration and dispute resolution practices, as well as challenges, emerging opportunities, and strategic solutions for businesses in the region.
The event will be attended by The Right Honourable Lord Burnett of Maldon, Chief Justice of the AIFC Court, Thomas Krümmel, Chairman of the IAC, along with heads of diplomatic missions, senior officials of the state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and leading arbitration and legal experts from various countries.
This year's programme features six thematic sessions:
· Specifics of arbitration in the Eurasian space
· Foreign direct investment in Eurasia: the impact of alternative dispute resolution on the investment climate
· Adapting arbitration practice to the age of artificial intelligence
· The in-house counsel perspective: choosing alternative dispute resolution over litigation
· Cross-border enforcement of arbitral awards in Eurasia: practical aspects
· Key recommendations for successful advocacy in arbitration: how to win a case?
Language: English with simultaneous interpretation into Russian.
Venue: Office of the AIFC Court and IAC, 55/16 Mangilik El Ave., block C3.1, Aiteke bi Hall, Astana, Kazakhstan.
